He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bradley Brown and Fannie Poe Brown; his wife Sally; his children, David Brown and Nicole Cahoon; his son-in-law Blair; his grandsons, Chris Cahoon (Carrie Beth Workman) and Nick Cahoon; his brother Preston Brown (Yvonne); and his siblings-in-law, Bill Mink (Rita) and Annis Wagner. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Green Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund or the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Foundation.
