He was predeceased by: his parent H. R. Davenport; and his siblings, Harvey, Earl, Coolidge, Mildred Smith and Bonnie Thompson.
He is survived by: his son J. D. (Almeda); his grandchildren, Adam and Alexis; his great grandchild Gracie Ann Davenport; his siblings, Wayne, Coy, Billy and Jean Allison; his nephew Alvin Davenport; and his close friend Brenda Horne.
