With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Elizabeth Hale of Abingdon, Virginia, who passed away on November 28, 2023 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William E. Phelps and Pearl Gobble Phelps; her husband Hale; and her siblings, Billie Katherine Pecktal and Jack L. Phelps.

She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Hale (Bill Hill); and her close friends, Donna Kuczko, Patsy Henninger, Austin Bailey, Mack Bailey, Mark Barrett, Albert, Sherry Wright, Noah Wright, Jarrod Farmer and Linda Summers Giel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the C.B. Hale Memorial Nursing Scholarship, Virginia Highlands Community College.
