Jessee leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jessee’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Sutherland and Lucille Sutherland (Long); his wife Edith Sutherland (Gaskins) of Tangier Island, Virginia; and his sister Sherry Smith (Sutherland) of Abingdon, Virginia.. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Sutherland (Teresa Funk Sutherland) and Jennifer Hawley (Gregory Hawley); his grandson Brent Jennell-Sutherland (Raven Journeay); and his siblings, Paula Sutherland (RL) and Michael (Regina Sutherland). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Main Street Chapel (427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210).
