It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph A. Johnson Jr. of Abingdon, Virginia, who passed away on May 27, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Johnson and Marian Eller Johnson; and his brother Marion Eller. He is survived by: his wife Karen of Abingdon; his children, Chris Johnson of Dallas, Jennifer Thompson (Greg) of Abingdon, Mary C. Johnson of Bristol, TN, Jeremy Houser (Jessica) of Hickory, NC and Joshua Houser (Holly) of Sterling, VA.; his grandchildren, Anna Thompson, Emme Thompson, Smith Houser, Nixon Houser, Eliot Senter, Braden Houser and Adley Houser; his nephew Jeff Johnson; and his friends, Lee Scott Horne, Sonny Porterfield, George Heath, Hank Odem Larry Haley and Gary Latham.
