With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Laura Duty Ryburn of Abingdon, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Duty and Addie Mae Owens Duty; her husband William Samuel Ryburn, Sr.; and her siblings, Robert Duty, John Duty, Eddie Duty, Ronald Artrip and Frances Shoaf.
She is survived by: her son Samuel Ryburn, Jr. (Renae); her sister Thelma Wilson; her granddaughters, Abigail Morrow (Brett) and Audrey Russ (Dustin); her aunt Annette Price; her sister-in-law Dorothy Ryburn; her close friend Nana Bee Andis; her sister Iva White; and her close friends, Nora Millsap, Brenda Lee and Peggy Garrett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Knollkreg Memorial Park (556 Walden Rd NE, Abingdon, VA 24210). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rock Spring Presbyterian Church, c/o Liz Lester, 16020 McGhee Lane, Meadowview, VA 24361,, in Mrs. Ryburn's name.
