With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Peggy Long of Abingdon, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 30, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Estle Burnett and Lavola Burnett (Childs); and her siblings, Estle Burnett, Jr. (Ilene), Fredrick Lee Burnett, James Edward Burnette (Gail) and Rebecca Ann Burnette.
She is survived by: her daughter Pamela Hammond (Tim) of Bristol, Virginia; her granddaughter Kristen Hammond Stett (Marcus); her great grandchildren, Kallie Rheagan Stett and Kade Anthony Stett of Fortson, GA; her uncle Jack Burnette of Kingston, Tennessee; and her siblings-in-law, Terry Long (Kim) of Wichita, Kansas and Loraine Long of Castlewood, Virginia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
