He was predeceased by: his father George E. Thomas; and his siblings, Odell Thomas, Emma Lee Jenkins, Lloyd Thomas and Clayton Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Ann Casey Thomas; his sons, Michael Allen Hamm (Melissa) of New Mexico and David Andrew Thomas; and his brother Tommy Dale Rash (Darlene) of Damascus. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
