With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas C. Phillips Jr. (Abingdon, Virginia), who passed away on February 20, 2022 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Senator Thomas C. and Lucile F. Phillips; his sister Rosaline Phillips Lynch; his wife Eugenia Summers Phillips; his children, Ellen Cavendish Phillips Smith (Stephen), Thomas Caldwell (Ted), Lucy Eugenia Phillips and John Summers Phillips (Nancy); and his grandchildren, Rebecca Smith Plyler, Preston Caldwell Smith, Miranda Smith Cearley, Jefferson Dulin Phillips, Matthew Caldwell Phillips, Margaret Fletcher Phillips, Daniel Thomas Bright, John Luke Phillips and Eden-Elizabeth Phillips Lawson. He was also cherished by his four children, their spouses, and nine grandchildren.
