We announce the death of Vayard Earl Harrison (Abingdon, Virginia), who passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 82. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Harrison and Ellen Harrison; and his siblings, Opal Harrison, Ray Edwards and Harold Edwards.
He is survived by: his wife Melinda F. Wright Harrison (Linda); his children, Randall S. Harrison (Rebecca W. Harrison) and Rebecca L. Harrison (Becky); his grandchildren, Ethan W. Reynolds, Conner M. Harrison (Brianna Harrison) and Makayla D. Harrison; and his great grandchildren, Carson, Lane and Lyric.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service (427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens (19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210).
