With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Strand of Accomac, Virginia, born in Nassawadox, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 30, 2026 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gladys Fauntleroy Fortune and Reginald Johnson; her son Eric O'Brian Strand (Pete); her husband Burley Strand; and her grandparents, Alberta and Edward Fauntleroy.
She is survived by: her daughter Irnita Machelle Strand (Mark); her grandsons, Mark Jr. and Matthew; her great grandchildren, Quaz of Chesa and Mattelah of Chesa; and her siblings, Mary Fauntleroy Hall of Accomac, Virginia and Val Fauntleroy (Doris) of Snow Hill, Maryland. She is also survived by five brothers in-law; five sisters in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
