She was predeceased by: her parents, James Henry Baines and Estelle James; and her siblings, Patty Ann Copes, Stella Mae Northam, Leroy James, Burleigh James, John Watts, Purcell Watts and Lenwood Watts.
She is survived by: her husband Rufus L. Johnson of Parksley, Virginia; her children, Eric L. James of Fort Washington and LaShonda N. Crump (Raymond) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Erica Colbert of Fort Washington, Delanah Colbert of Landover and Jordan James of Capitol Heights, Maryland; her great grandchild Aasim Colbert of Fort Washington, Maryland; her siblings-in-law, Martha Pitts (Andrew) of Snow Hill, Betty Williams (Covington) of Salisbury, Maryland and Ricky Johnson (Keisha) of Salisbury, Maryland; and her close friends, Faye Scott, Sandra Bailey, Celestine Smith and Virginia Upshur Pucou. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jerleane's Funeral Service (24497 Mary N Smith Rd, Accomac, VA 23301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
