He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Thornton and Elmira Thornton; his sister Algarna Sampson; and his grandson Marc Hill. He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Juanita Thornton; his daughters, Karisa Frazier and Tonia Pittman (Troy); his grandchildren, Keona Pittman, Phelicia Parker, Ashleigh Brew (Jeremiah), Sharod Anderson, D'Juan Pittman, D'onté Graham, Tayler Pittman, Brittany Bacon, Cyan Bacon, Troy Pittman Jr., Alaya Bacon, Dior, Devonte Bacon and Austin Frazier; his siblings, Cecelia Hartley and Alphonso Thornton (Inez Matthews); his sisters-in-law, Bernetta Harris-Turner and Maxine Bright; and his close friends, Archie Dale, Harold Scott and Charles Jones. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends.
