She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Hildred Upshur and Louise Johnson Upshur; her brother Hildred; her son-in-law Curtis Ames; her children, Pamela Ames, Sylvia Moore (Ronald), Charles Thomas and L'Tanya Johnson; and her siblings, Shirley Ames, Gloria Harmon (William), Charles Upshur, Celestine Smith, Virginia Picou (David), Will Upshur (Wendy), Joyce Reid, Wendy M. Eutsler (Garland) and Mona L. Kelly (John). She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends.
