We are sad to announce that on April 2, 2026, at the age of 72, Sophronia Strand (Accomac, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Thomas White and Sarah Lee Justice White; her in-laws, Preston and Rosa Mae Dickerson Strand; and her siblings, Loretta White, John White and George White Jr..
She is survived by: her niece Lisa Reginia White Washington; her husband Carey Dickerson Strand of Tasley, VA; her sons, Troy White (Nicole) of Claymont, DE, Shacorey White (Charlotte) of Dover, DE and Ryan C. Strand of Tasley, VA; her sister Barbara Ann (Leenell) of Lakeland, FL; and her nephew Dom Bailey. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
Even during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, she found a way to keep her family and community connected—faithfully leading Tues-day night Bible study by phone, ensuring no one missed a moment of God's word.
