We announce the death of Luther Hale Rittenhouse of Afton, Virginia, who passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 86. Luther will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Luther’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry "Luke" Luther and Ada Rittenhouse (Duncan); his wife Jeannette Alene Rittenhouse (Ferguson); and his sisters, Judy Quick and Faye Rigby.
He is survived by: his daughter Wendy Watts (Howell); his grandsons, Ryker Watts (Lindsey) and Zane Watts; and his sister Carole Craig (Sidney). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery (2 Tanbark Dr, Afton, VA 22920).
