He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Joseph and Luzon Mitchell Hardbower. He is survived by: his children, Dana Michelle, Mitchell Joseph of Rocky Mount, VA and Beth Joelle; his wife Dianne; his children, Zac Elmore of Hurdle Mills, NC and Danny Maupin of King George, VA.; his brother Phillip (Virginia) of Manassas, Virginia.; and his grandchildren, Rosemary, Pearson Elmore, Danny "Trip" and Joelle Maupin. He is also survived by many in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In their second year at FBCA, they began teaching Sunday School – Byron primarily in the 5th grade boys' class for 18 years – until retiring from teaching because of the COVID pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Byron's favorite children's home - the Hope Tree Family Services (https://hopetreefs.org) in Salem, Virginia.
