With sadness, we share the passing of Gertrud Barkeit of Alexandria, Virginia. Gertrud, born on January 3, 1939, passed away on August 15, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Kurt Wolf and Anna Klee; her brother Ludwig Wolf; and her brothers-in-law, Peter Salmann and Fred Henning.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sandie Barkeit and Bridget Johnson; her grandchildren, Ricky, Chris, Amanda and Tommy Duncan; her great grandchildren, Victoriya, Justin, Travis, Wyatt and Riley Johnson; her sister Heidi Salmann; her nephew Micheal Salmann (Elka); her great-niece Michelle; her sister Gerda Henning; her children, Holger, Rainer and Tina; and her caregiver Inova Fairfax Hospital.
