Ilene Robeck wrote a sympathy message

“It is with profound sorrow that I heard of Howard's death. He was a wonderful friend and colleague. He inspired so many; He shared much more than medical knowledge with us. He shared his compassion, his empathy for others, and his humor. What I have learned from Howard stays with me to this day. Ilene Robeck”
