He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Lee and Elsie Lee Shifflett Bruce; his wife Lori Diane Bruce; and his siblings, Ollie O'Dell "Dale" Bruce, Raymond Bruce, Donnie Bruce and Mary Widdowfield.
He is survived by: his children, Jamie Sanders (Dan) of Reston, Jordan Bruce of Alexandria and Nicholas "Nick" Bruce of McGaheysville; his stepson Andy Wright (Betty) of Orange; his siblings, Lottie Diehl (Richard) of Louisiana, Shirley Eppard of McGaheysville, Carroll "Gene" Bruce (Julie) of Elkton and Janet Shifflett of Elkton; his nephew Buddy Bruce (Patricia) of Elkton; and his grandchildren, Paisley Bruce, Carson Bruce, Luke Sanders and Shepard Sanders. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
