We announce the death of James Vincent Durkin of Alexandria, Virginia, who passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 78. James Vincent will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. James Vincent will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew James Vincent will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. James Vincent’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Durkin and Laurie Durkin; and his siblings, John M. Durkin, Mary Jo Durkin Ibañez and Lawrence E. Durkin.
He is survived by: his wife Margot; his children, Timothy of Missoula, Montana and Meredith (Collin Wolfe) of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin; and his brother Thomas H. Durkin of Indianapolis. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
