With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of JoAnn Stepnick Herr of Alexandria, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 15, 2025 at the age of 86. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of JoAnn Stepnick Herr to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Joseph Stepnick and Mary Ellen Stepnick (Sheehy); her husband Dr. Austin A. Herr Jr.; and her son Austin Herr III. She is survived by: her brother Regis Stepnick; her children, Susan Herr Mills (Robert "Bob" Mills), Douglas Herr (Katie Herr), Alicia Herr Jensen (Richard "Arjay" Jensen) and Valerie Herr McWhorter (late Robert); her daughters-in-law, Julie Huffman Herr (late Austin A. Herr III) and Regina Bright Herr; her grandchildren, Caroline Mills Burruss, Robert, Elizabeth Herr, Austin Herr IV, Douglas Herr Jr., Andrew Jensen, Alexander and Matthew Jensen; and her pets, Ellie and Welfare League of Alexandria.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Basilica of St. Mary (310 S Royal St, Alexandria, VA 22314).
