“I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing. John became a friend through my long time friend Bruce Edwards and we met when he interviewed me in 2003 for Bruce's book Caddy For Life. What was scheduled for 30 minutes went over 2 hours as he enjoyed and appreciated the stories I shared. I had the pleasure of seeing John over the years at the many ALS fundraising golf events. I send my prayers and heartfelt condolences to Christine and his family and friends.”

“I'm devastated to hear the news. John was such a great friend to my family and his dedication to the Bruce Edwards Foundation for ALS Research meant so much to all of us. We so appreciated all the time and effort he put into the fundraisers over the years. My father so loved sparring with John over politics, but called him the "only liberal I can truly listen to." To his family and friends, our sympathies on your loss. He was truly one of the greats. Gwyn Edwards Dieterle (Bruce's sister)”
