He was predeceased by: his parents, Grazia Sabatini and Gaetano Sabatini; his sisters, Angela Gioia, Lucy Sabatini and Olga Perillo; and his former wife Virginia Sabatini.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his sons, Stephen Sabatini (Tammy) and Christopher Sabatini (Teresa) of Warwick, His; his grandsons, Jake and Chase Sabatini of Warwick; and his stepdaughter Alexandra Gavelek.

The award celebrated his technical expertise, professionalism, and many outstanding contributions to aviation safety.
