It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Philip Angell Smith of Alexandria, Virginia, born in Syracuse, New York, who passed away on November 11, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Julia Sutherland of Richmond; his son Andrew Smith of Alexandria; and his brother George Procter-Smith of Dallas. He is also survived by loving relatives and friends.
In May 2020, during the COVID pandemic, they moved to Richmond, Va., to be near friends.
