He was predeceased by: his mother Rosa Lee Neeley; and his sister Tammy Flanagan. He is survived by: his son Simon Taylor; his niece Rakaylah Rose Gordon; his wife Candace B. Ewell; his father Cecil; and his siblings, Michael (Kaawaloa), Charlie (Angela), Elizabeth, Brenda Nelson (Johnny), Shantell Jones and Cordell. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Alfred Street Baptist Church (301 S Alfred St, Alexandria, VA 22314). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
