He is survived by: his children, Dari Smythers Jenkins, Pulaski, Sonja Smythers Taylor and Daris Dwayne Smythers; his grandchildren, Chelsey L. Carico (Chance), Joshua D. Taylor (Stephanie Shinn), Candace Linville (late Jonathan Linville), Kayla Mooney (William) and Samantha Stanger (John); his great grandchildren, Hunter Dalton, Garrett Dalton (Mia Wright), Maverick Carico, Jackson Carico, Ania Austin, Audrey Stanger, Abigail Stanger, Fletcher Mooney, Hattie Mooney, Claire Mooney, Cora Mooney and Rachel Linville; his great great grandchild Abel Mathew Dalton; and his brothers, Curtis Wendell Smythers and Eugene Smythers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smythers Family Picnic Shelter (424 Buck Island Ln, Allisonia, VA 24347). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
