He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert Augustus Powell and Annie Alderson Powell; and his siblings, Victor Henry Powell, Herbert Lester Powell, Mae Powell Conway and Betty Lou Powell Vernon.

He is survived by : his siblings, Earl Gunn Powell of South Boston and Janet Marie Domke of Portland, OR; and his pets, Elvis and Liza. He is also survived by Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Powell Funeral Home (1603 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
