He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Raymond Miller and Effie Thornton Jones Miller; his close friend Phyllis "Dot" Ridgeway; and his brothers, Joe Raymond Miller Jr. and Clifford Henry Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Marie Miller, Rob Ropes of West Point, California, Randy Smith Miller, Brenda Dalton of Altavista, Virginia, Donnie and Teri Lee Miller of Lynchburg, Virginia.; and his sister Helen Doss of Altavista. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
