He was predeceased by: his fathers, Lloyd Adkins and Douglas Shelton Adkins. He is survived by: his wife Laline Bates Adkins; his sons, Randy Adkins (Lisa) of Urbanna, VA and Douglas Adkins (Stephanie) of South Boston, VA.; his grandchildren, Drew Adkins (Leslie), Aaron Adkins, Eric Adkins, Clara Adkins Perez (Will) and Steven Adkins; his stepgrandchildren, Cory Evans (Danielle), Joshua Evans and Zack Evans (Cary); his great grandchildren, Spencer, Christian, William, Sadie, Daegan and Tucker; his brother Herman "Popeye" Adkins; his child Predeceasing Carroll; his brother Julian Adkins; and his sister-in-law Nancy Adkins.
In lieu of flowers, Carroll requested that donations be sent to True Light Baptist Church 8139 Huell Matthews Hwy, Alton, VA 24520.
