It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Alderson Hodnett Hensley of Alton, Virginia, who passed away on December 23, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Jean Alderson leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her spouses, Carlton Hodnett, Sr. and Willie Hensley; her parents, Clyde Alderson and Mary Terry Alderson; and her son Carl Hodnett.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Hodnett of Spartanburg, S. C. and Elizabeth "Dean" Reeves (Kenneth) of Alton; and her siblings, Frances Eason of South Boston and Frank Alderson of Cadiz, KY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
