He was predeceased by: his father John William; and his half-brother Cecil Bailey. He is survived by: his sisters, Shelia Awoyale of Greensboro, NC, Gladys Strange of Greensboro, NC and Deborah Bolton of Roxboro, NC; his aunts and uncles, Mattie Ewell of Baltimore, MD, Nora Lipscomb of South Boston, VA, Ola Johnson, George Lipscomb (Ophelia) and Algie Lipscomb (Pam) of Baltimore; his sister-in-law Linda Bailey; and his close friends, Nathaniel Rogers, John Woody, Neil Love and Charity Williamson of Durham, NC. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
