With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Whirley Grow of Amherst, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 20, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Whirley and Isabel Whirley of Loudoun County; her husband Lloyd Grow; and her siblings, Mary Lou Campbell, Helen Cook, David Whirley and Lewis Whirley.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Pollard (Larry), Deborah Grow and Michael Grow (Alice); her siblings, Barbara Cochran (Bill) and Bill Whirley (Jane); her grandchildren, Christopher Pollard (Stephanie), Stacey Burford (Damon), Lauren Pearson (Griffin), Andrew Pollard, Mashu Murao (Yui), Maya Murao, Sanshiro Murao and Ian Grow; and her great grandchildren, Nicole Pollard, Thomas Pollard, Brady Pollard, Thatcher Pearson, Arden Pearson, Otoha Murao and Yushiro Murao. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Christmas Fund.
