With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward Lewis Mayhew Jr. of Amherst, Virginia, born in Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on March 13, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Mayhew and Nell Mayhew (Treadway). He is survived by : his siblings, Ruth Hedrick (Robert) and Mike Mayhew (Jeanie); his wife Mary Ann; his children, Edward Lewis Mayhew III (Toccoa), Kelley Elizabeth Bauman, Elizabeth Anne Brown (Jay), William Roger Sutherland (Lisa) and Dewey Christopher Mayhew (Angela); his grandchildren, Christen McKenzie Windham (Jason), Andrew Boone Bauman, Robert Warren Bauman, Toccoa Caine Archer (Ned), Elizabeth McKenzie Mayhew, Jack Miller Brown, Mary Addison Brown, William Roger Sutherland III, Bryce Barrett Sutherland, Edward Lewis Mayhew IV and Elizabeth Lucille Mayhew; and his great grandchildren, Scott Madison Windham and Forrest Blake Windham. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
