He was predeceased by: his parents, Granville Richard Thomas and Rosa Gertrude Thomas; his sister Edna Thomas; his nephew Ira Brown; and his granddaughter Sonia Elizabeth Elliott.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Thomas (Tenny); his daughters, Cynthia Thomas Elliott and Della Thomas; his siblings, Earlene West and James Thomas; his grandchildren, Eric Elliott (Rebecca) and Ashley Elliott; and his great grandchildren, Zade Elliott and Sidney Elliott. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and lifetime friends.
