He is survived by: his wife Gwen Staples Patteson; his sister Norma Patteson Mills (Olan) of Chattanooga, TN; his daughters, Denny Patteson of Amherst, VA and Anna Ware (Timmy) of Amherst, VA; his stepsons, Raphael Porres and Sean Porres of Los Angeles, CA; his grandchildren, Zachery Toone of Raleigh, NC, Megan Toone, Justin Ware (Madi) of Amherst and Katelyn Ware of Austin, TX; his great grandchildren, Saylor Hodnett and Mills Ware of Amherst; his sister-in-law Becky Talley of Amherst; his nephews, Jay Mills (Jennifer) of Chattanooga, TN, Brent Mills (Julie) of Chattanooga, TN and Kincaid Mills (Allison) of Chattanooga, TN; his great-nieces, Hannah Mills and Augusta Mills of Chattanooga, TN; and his great-nephew Caid Mills of Chattanooga, TN..
