It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Winfield Edison Douglas of Amherst, Virginia, who passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James Brown and Audrey Douglas Sales; his son Barry Leo Douglas Sr.; his siblings, Robert "Buddy" Douglas, George Sales, Andrew Sales, Willie Mae Sales, Nanette Christian and Irene Tate; his uncle James Douglas; and his aunt Geraldine Morris.

He is survived by : his son Larry Douglas of Lowesville; his stepdaughter Desiree Toliver of Charlottesville; his grandchildren, Latoya Douglas-Henson of Newport News and Rev. Barry L. Douglas Jr. (Shamika) of Roseland; his great grandchildren, Ta'Nya Henson, Gary "Lil G" Henson, Talasia Henson, Josiah Douglas and Jayla Douglas; his sisters, Eleanor Jean Edlow of Petersburg and Inez Sales of Lynchburg; his aunt Odell Smith of Amherst; and his nieces, Christie Sales Gmach (Jordan) of Lynchburg and Holly Sales of North Carolina. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
