It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Ward Torrence (Appomattox, Virginia), who passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Allen Torrence; her parents, Elsie Keeton and Eugene Joseph Ward, Sr.; her son Frank Torrence; her granddaughter Brittaney Leigh Mitchell; and her siblings, Eugene Ward, Jr., Robert Alton Ward, Edward Paul Ward (Joyce), Lawrence Barrington Ward, Nell Estelle Sanderson (Jesse) and Martha Scott Covington (Melvin).
She is survived by: her children, Melinda Mitchell (Rick) of Mechanicsville, Thomas Davis (Cheryl Mullins) of Spout Spring, David Davis (Teresa) of Spout Spring, Donna Henderson (Mike) of Appomattox, Delores Jones (Kenneth) of Appomattox and Linda Almond (Donnie) of Appomattox; her daughter-in-law Janice Torrence of Spout Spring; her sisters-in-law, Lee Nell Ward of Farmville, Joyce Ward, Beach and Ann Ward of Farmville; and her close friend Luther Lewis. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 21 plus great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home (667 Court St, Appomattox, VA 24522). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church (1709 Church St, Appomattox, VA 24522).
