She is survived by: her mother Iris Louise Willard Smith; her daughter Candy; her son-in-law Gary Burkhart; her sons, Michael Dale Owens and Brian Owens; her grandchildren, Amanda Burkhart Hamm (Jesse), Kelly Owens Williams (Chad), Austin (Stephanie Burkhart) and Jason (Jasmine Owens); her great grandchildren, Alyssia Register, Emily Register, Lexie Hamm, Maverick Hamm, Sterlin Burkhart, Henry Burkhart, Hazel Owens, Bowen Williams, Lettie Evangeline Williams, Charlie Brown, Layla Brown and Willow Brown; her siblings, Sandra Carolyn Smith Stowe (Blaine), Margie Ann Smith Stowe and Walter Wade Smith; and her sister-in-law Eva.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at the Unity Church Cemetery (2874 Unity Church Rd, Ararat, VA 24053).
