She was predeceased by: her parents, Columbus Franklin Chappell and Lillie; her husband Clifford Boyd; her brothers, Ed, Cecil, Jan, Alon and Jack Chappell; her grandson Lee Elliott; her pet Tipper; and her great-grandparent Charlee (Graham).
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Boyd of Mt Airy, NC, Sandi Boyd of Roanoke, VA and Cliff Boyd (Rebecca Boyd) of Eugene, OR; her grandchildren, Christina Lazenby (Brad), Andrew Boyd and Archer Boyd-McCauley (Will); and her caregiver Laura Tiller Good.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at the Mount Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery (127 Mt Bethel Rd, Cana, VA 24317).
