He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard "Bernie" Randolph Pitts, Sr. and Marjorie Watts Pitts; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Umble, David Ganoe and Arthur Witmeyer.
He is survived by: his wife Almeda Hicks Pitts; his children, Sarah Colvin (Ryan), Anne Grove (Jake) and John Pitts; his siblings, Judy Witmeyer, Nelson Pitts (Carol) and Barbara Ganoe; and his grandchildren, Rett, Charlotte, Riley, Jack, Caroline, Robbie and Ridge. He is also survived by aunt, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
