He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Leon Hardt and Clara Lou Hardt (Rummell). He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Hardt (Erickson); his brother Kenneth Hardt (Maribeth) of Saluda, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Jeffrey Erickson of Viborg, SD, Joanne Erickson (Todd Sizemore) of Arlington, VA and Karen Erickson of Arlington, VA. He is also survived by three nephews and one niece.
