She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Cunningham Sr. and Carrie Virginia Cunningham (Ragland); her husband Maynard Dewey Carter, Sr.; her children, Mark Carter (Jean), Steve Carter, Wanda Carter and Linda Brown; her brothers, Frank Cunningham, Jr. and George Ford Cunningham; her granddaughter Tammy Micklem; and her children-in-law, Charlie Thompson and Barbara Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Cary (Russell), Carolyn Thompson, Sandra Micklem, Joyce Micklem (Patrick), Rebecca Ragland (Sam) and Donald Carter; her sister Hallie Carter; her son-in-law Larry Brown; Sissy Moon, Angela Grant and Doris Stevens. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren with 1 great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Methodist Church, Norwood, VA and to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
