With solemn reverence, we commemorate James A. McDonald of Ashburn, Virginia, born in Portland, Maine, whose life came to an end on June 13, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Elgetha C. McDonald. He is survived by: his sons, Mark, Paul, James and Stephen McDonald; his daughters-in-law, Jennifer, Patricia, Sydney and Melanie; his grandchildren, Matthew, Madeline, Emily, Gavin, Makenzie, Paul, Kevin, Mitchell, Jake, Michael, Grant, Blake, Patrick, Jillian and Jack; his great grandchildren, Calvin, Camilla, Harvey, Ari, Collins and Joseph; and his sister Grace Bernier. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Covenant Funeral Service - Fredericksburg (10830 Patriot Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22408). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (9149 Elys Frd Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407). A reception will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Laurel Hill Memorial Park (10127 Plank Rd, Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA 22553).
