He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred "Pat" Mavel and Dorothy "Dot" Mavel; his sister Gerri; and his brother-in-law Norman Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Rita Mavel; his children, Kristina Frick (John), Jason Mavel (Tracy) and Jesse Mavel (Heather); and his grandchildren, JP, Josh, Jackson, Jude and Isla. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Cornerstone Chapel (650 Battlefield Pkwy SE, Leesburg, VA 20175). A reception will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
