We announce the death of Jessica Elena Smaltz in Ashburn, Virginia, who passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 37. She was predeceased by: her grandfathers, Marcel J. Zobrak and Donald J. Smaltz. She is survived by: her parents, Don Smaltz and Christina Zobrak Smaltz; her husband Nicholas Basinger; her sons, Sam Basinger and Max Basinger; her siblings, Sarah Andres (Josh), Maria Ruddy (Keegan), Teresa Himpler (Jack), Julia Smaltz, Olivia Smaltz and Matthew Smaltz; and her grandmothers, Elena Zobrak and Janice Smaltz. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
