With sadness, we share the passing of Deloise T. Coles of Montpelier, Virginia. Deloise, born on December 23, 1953, passed away on October 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father William H. Taylor; and her husband Reverend James Leo Coles. She is survived by: her mother Ethel "Gladys" Taylor; her daughter Stacy Taylor; her stepchildren, Tanya Shelley (Alex), Terry Russell (LaJuan), Titus Russell (Charlene) and Teddy Russell (Tabetha); her grandson Adrian Taylor; her stepgrandchildren, Taylor, Natavia, Charde, Shana, Teddy Jr. and Teon; her siblings, Shirley Dandridge, Gaylon Hiter (Henry), Marie "Ree" Taylor, Bessie James, Gaile Shelton (Dennis), William "Junnybug" Taylor and James Taylor; her siblings-in-law, Barbara Houchens and Alvin Coles; and her friend Carolyn Powell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and community friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home (518 N Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA 23005). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church (17520 Jefferson Hwy, Montpelier, VA 23192). A burial will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at the same location.
