Frances Rebecca Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 98, Frances Rebecca Smith of Ashland, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Frances may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Frances touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Roosevelt Arvin and Decila Rebecca Hammock Gary; her husband Floyd Steven Smith; and her son Henry Ernest Ketner, II. She is survived by: her children, Robert Monroe Ketner, III and Frances Ketner Gilman; and her grandchildren, Robert Monroe Ketner IV (Elizabeth), Robin Blanchard, Mary Gilman, Rebecca Davis (Dwayne), William Gilman (Florence), Matthew Ketner and Mark Ketner. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
