He was predeceased by: his mother Trudy Melton. He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Hunter Melton; his father Everett G. Melton, Jr.; his brother Ben Melton (Ashley); his sister-in-law Brittany Amos (Danny); his father-in-law David Hunter (Brenda); his nieces, Graycen Melton, Ella and Emerie; and his nephew Eli Amos.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jay's surviving spouse, as she continues to cherish his legacy.
