He was predeceased by: his parents, Garfield Handy and Clara Keiger Handy; and his brother Gerald Ray Handy. He is survived by: his close friend Loretta Carter of Martinsville; his siblings, Roger L. Handy (Sylvia) of Virginia Beach, Brenda H. Prillaman (Ronnie) of Martinsville and Bonnie H. Isley (Barry) of Martinsville; his aunt Christine I. Setliff of Bassett; and his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey W. Prillaman, Lisa R. Prillaman-Murray, Christy I. Barnett, Elizabeth A. Isley, Wesley L. Handy, Marshall A. Handy and Emily H. O'Neal. He is also survived by several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
